"Nice mix of strong vocal harmonies and acoustic string band music, with a great selection of tunes. These guys like lots of different kinds of music, and their enjoyment of playing is evident on this latest release."

The year "1906" marks repairs made to the walls of Lock number 3 nearly a century ago. You can see this from the sidewalk behind the stage. We used this photo for the CD art.

Our Live at Lock 3 CD

Our second CD is titled Live at Lock 3, and it's a recording of one of our performances at the Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron. The city of Akron grew up around the old Ohio-Erie Canal, and Lock number 3 is located directly behind the stage at Lock 3 Park. Follow the Ramblers down the Brick Road to Lock 3 of the old Ohio-Erie Canal.

Recorded on a beautiful summer morning, Live at Lock 3 lets you hear the Brick Road Ramblers doing what we like to do most: playing an eclectic mix of tunes on whatever acoustic instruments are lying around. You'll hear our five-part harmonies on "Going to the West" and "Riders in the Sky" and you'll feel our love of traditional instrumental music on "Nail That Catfish to a Tree" and "The Girl I Left Behind". Click here to read more about our performances there.

Two original songs by members of the band are included on the CD...

Wayne's  AC&Y and Dave's Tears in Tennessee. So whether you are a "Man of Constant Sorrow" or want to be a "Friend of the Devil", you'll get over an hour's worth of fun music on Live at Lock 3.

Our CDs can be purchased at all of our performances, online, and at selected stores in the northern Ohio area.  Click here to find out where you can get them. You can listen to MP3 previews of many of our tracks on efolkmusic.org, just Click here.

The live recording was done by A & A Sound in downtown Akron at the Lock 3 Park. Mixing & mastering was done at LIVETRACKS PRODUCTIONS  in Canton, Ohio. Non-public domain songs are licensed through the Harry Fox Agency. Live at Lock 3 is our CD number brr002.
