Home > About us > Tom

Tom Schurr is the ace with the bass.  Gifted with an incredible ear and excellent memory for music, Tom is one of the best bassists we have heard, providing timing and a subtle drive to each song. He has been playing the same Kay 3/4 size string bass for 25 years.  His career started as a youth playing electric bass in garage rock bands, and he's been playing acoustic music with Dave for over 20 years.  Tom loves the old country rock bands like Pure Prairie League, Poco, and the Byrds.

He's played back-up for local artists and performed on stage with the likes of old-time music singer-song writer Tina Liza Jones.  In addition to playing the bass, he's picked up a well-worn tenor banjo and a 40's tenor guitar from Ron. His melody runs leave us gasping to keep up.

Tom thinks visually, and his efforts can be seen on the artwork and design of all of our CDs.  Tom also did the audio mastering on our Medina Rose CD.  Tom's the webmaster here... contact him if you have any great pictures of us to contribute.
